School Manager

Change for Kids (CFK) seeks a full-time School Manager to join our team and immediately take ownership of the projects he or she is given. The School Manager will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of all CFK activities at two NYC public elementary schools. The job requires daily interaction with classroom teachers, administrators, CFK partners and staff, families and students. The School Manager will be expected to integrate themselves into the daily culture of the school, and continually find ways to advance the CFK/school partnership.

Responsibilities Include:

General School Relationship Management

  • Act as primary CFK contact within the school community
  • Meet/communicate regularly with school administration and teachers
  • Serve as member of the School Leadership Team and other school based advisory committees
  • Represent CFK at all major school functions
  • Track/collect student registration, release forms, and other related paperwork
  • Assess the needs of the school community and determine supply, program and volunteer needs of school, on a continual bases

Program Partner Management

  • Coordinate all CFK activities with program partners, school administration, volunteers and other service organizations in the building
  • Facilitate the use of the CFK teacher planning tool during planning meetings
  • Plan and support culminating program events (performances, gallery openings, etc.) and field trips


  • Use CFK curriculum guidelines to monitor program activity and update Education Director
  • Administer and collect program evaluation data at least three times a year (classroom observation, teacher surveys, student surveys)
  • Collect school based data as needed
  • Participate in and help facilitate annual Partnership Quality Review

Volunteer Implementation and Management

  • Determine all school-based volunteer opportunities and create internal school calendar
  • Schedule and manage all school-based volunteer programs (clean-ups, field day, etc.)
  • Track volunteers and hours worked in database
  • Ensure volunteers have a positive experience with adequate resources
  • Assist in recruiting volunteers to fill positions, including outreach to school community
  • Communicate with active school volunteers on a regular basis, particularly high school and college volunteer clubs

CFK Communications

  • Track and report weekly on CFK activities in school community
  • Collect school impact stories and pictures to be used for communications, website, social media, etc.
  • Work to increase CFK visibility in school community and surrounding neighborhood
  • Work with school to reach out to families and include them in regular CFK activities


  • Highly motivated, proactive, outgoing and collaborative individual with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized, responsible, and detail-oriented with basic computer skills
  • College degree and/or prior related experience and knowledge of NYC public schools preferred
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) a plus

Schedule:Typical work week hours are Monday-Friday, school hours. Work will include some evening and weekend events.
