This temporary opportunity runs from mid-August to mid-December, approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Position Summary:
The Seasonal Fundraiser is responsible for assisting in the implementation of workplace fundraising plans by providing campaign consulting and customer service. This role serves as the primary point of contact within an assigned group of new and existing accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Knowledge

Develop a thorough understanding of the following:
• UWGPSNJ’s vision, mission, value proposition & strategic objectives
• UWGPSNJ’s Impact agenda and priorities
• Specific Impact programs and projects (products)
• Volunteer engagement opportunities and mobilization strategies
• Messaging platform and communication tools

  • The seasonal fundraiser will gain this knowledge through a comprehensive orientation and training program

Workplace Campaign Management

• Analyze previous campaign activity
• Meet with Employee Campaign Chairperson (ECC) and other contacts in each account to review or set objectives and develop plans to gain corporate leadership support
• Maintain frequent contact with ECC to monitor his/her comfort level and campaign progress
• Conduct campaigner training as needed with each account
• Provide consultative support to ECC and campaign teams
o Join campaign planning meetings
o Plan campaign events (i.e. Kickoffs)
o Coordinate guest speakers
o Order campaign materials
o Connect account to UWGPSNJ Corporate Engagement Team
• Maintain account records on assigned accounts
o Update fundraising database (ANDAR)
o Compile notes in hard and soft copy files
• Deliver UWGPSNJ presentations at Workplace Campaign gatherings
• Secure and process campaign results; ensure accurate and timely transfer of donor information from the company to UWGPSNJ Finance department
• Ensure appropriate recognition for the successful workplace campaigns:
o ECC thank you notes
o Provide information for campaign e-Newsletter
• Assist other fundraisers on account coverage as needed
• Identify and contact potential new workplace campaign accounts to secure new sources of revenue

Internal UWGPSNJ Relationships

• Provide UWGPSNJ manager with timely and accurate reporting on campaign activities and account relationship
• Attend one-to-one meetings with UWGPSNJ Manager
• Attend regularly scheduled fundraising staff meetings

Essential Functions and Job Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience
• Experience in management, sales, or customer service
• Interest in nonprofit fundraising
• Organizational and project management skills – ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Comprehensive communication skills, verbal and written
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications; experienced and comfortable leveraging complex relational database (or willingness and ability to learn database software)
• Valid drivers license & insurance and/or reliable transportation required for out-of-office travel as required by the position
• Demonstrates required skills or experience on core competencies in accordance with UWGPSNJ Competency Framework
