Nepal: Partnerships Specialist (Consultant)

Under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Director and in close collaboration with all eight Country Offices in South Asia and all programme sections in UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA), the consultant will be responsible to fulfil the following deliverables:

  • Coordinate with UNICEF Country Offices in South Asia, Programme Sections in Kathmandu, Public Partnership Division (PPD) and Public Fundraising Partnership (PFP), to identify and document potential areas of partnership engagement for sharing within UNICEF and prospective partners.

  • Work with Country Offices and ROSA Programme Sections to map engagement opportunities and key targets including

  • Review the pool of existing UNICEF ROSA partners

  • Conduct research on potential new partners and maintain a regional partner prospect list

  • Assess opportunities and offers of support received from PPD and PFP

  • Draft a strategy paper that incorporates all current and potential areas of partnership engagement, defines the support and oversight role of the Regional Office for each one of them, captures best practices and lessons learned, and proposes a way forward in expanding the number and scope of partnership opportunities in the region.

  • Consolidate and perform a quality review on all current CO-specific initiatives including, but not limited to, Resource Mobilization Strategies, Partnership Risk Mitigation Strategies, Integrated Corporate Engagement Strategies, or Implementing Partnerships Strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Advanced university degree in in one of the following fields: communications, social sciences communication, marketing, public relations, social policy, business administration and management

At least 5 – 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in partnership management, planning, strategy development, and/or in a corporate managerial role with engaging with partners

A track record of working on developing innovative solutions/partnerships and initiatives

Ability to work with a diverse set of partners to create problem specifications, system requirements, and then implement software and technology innovations

Prior experience in prospecting, fundraising and/or partnerships building required

Understanding of UNICEF partnership framework an asset

Familiarity with UNICEF Innovation’s work an asset

Prior experience in working on children’s issues an asset

Demonstrated research, planning, communication and writing skills
