Community Access, Inc. (CA), founded in 1974, is a progressive not-for-profit organization that expands opportunities for people living with mental health concerns to recover from trauma and discrimination through affordable housing, training, advocacy and healing-focused services. Our programs include over 1000 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie The Harp Advocacy Center, East Village Access—a PROS-licensed training program, Parachute NYC – Crisis Respite Center and Support Line and the Art Collective.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

to work at East Village Access PROS, at 242 East 2nd Street, New York, NY.

Program Overview:

The mission of East Village Access is to provide empowering opportunities to people with psychiatric disabilities to realize their goals, build relationships and work towards self-sufficiency. East Village Access recognizes that each member has specific talents, skills and abilities. All program services are intended to assist participants realize their full potential and embrace broader opportunities in the greater community.

The purpose of the program is to assist individuals recovering from the disabling effects of mental illness through the coordination of rehabilitation, treatment and support services that are participant focused and goal oriented

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director is responsible for supervision of assigned staff in providing individual and group service delivery, compliance with regulations, andmeeting agency and regulators standard of service. The Assistant Director manages intake of new participants, and oversight of the program OMH compliance and quality assurance. All job duties must be performed in a manner promoting empowerment, recovery, and team approach.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have an understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Community Access; LMSW required, LCSW / Clinical Psychologist (CP) preferred; Previous experience in a Medicaid funded and OMH regulated program; previous PROS experience preferred; Commitment to recovery oriented practice; an understanding of person-centered planning and evidence-based practices; minimum of 2 years of administrative and supervisory experience; effective group facilitation skills and experience preferred; Understand city, state and federal regulatory agencies and able to assist the Program Director implements program development and services accordingly; familiarity with various systems and databases, such as AWARDS, CAIRS, and NYESS, preferred; familiarity with Medicare and HMOs services and billing guidelines preferred; must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH); demonstrate leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team;ability to work independently and as part of a team; Available to work on weekends and holidays, as needed.
