Position Overview:

The Integrated Noncommunicable Disease (INCD) Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator will be responsible for leading the ground implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of INCD quality improvement projects at local health centers and district hospitals, designed to raise the quality of processes for INCD healthcare provided to patients. Under the supervision of the INCD Associate Director, the fellow will work directly with teams in the INCD, Mentorship and Enhanced Supervision – Quality Improvement (MESH-QI,) Health Information System (HIS), and Ministry of Health (MOH) programs, at both the district hospital and health center levels, to implement selected QI projects and regularly disseminate the findings to this forum.

At the end of the fellowship period, the findings will be leveraged to develop a quality improvement framework for INCD that can be applied to other health facilities in the PIH-supported districts and throughout the country.


  • Collect, summarize, and distill data related to the QI projects under implementation; leverage findings to support program enhancements and larger growth strategy
  • Support the program in any required duty surrounding QI
  • Travel to health centers in the three district hospitals and supervise the use of clinical quality forms
  • Design and supervise the filing system for INCD health centers
  • Collaborate with the INCD Electronic Medical Records program assistant to organize periodic workshops to share the findings of screening and quality improvement with relevant teams
  • Participate in the MESH and screening debriefing meetings
  • Receive QI mentorship oriented to INCDs

Desired Skills and Experience:

Items indicated with an asterisk (*) are required

  • Master’s degree in public health, professional nursing degree, or related field*
  • Mastery of English language; French or Kinyarwanda is a bonus
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience on quality improvement or monitoring and evaluation projects
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teamwork
