Job Description Qualifications:
The Teacher Naturalist and Educational Administrative Assistant will assist both the Education Coordinator as well as the Early Childhood Education Coordinator. They will work strongly on community outreach, will conduct education programs and increase visibility in the community. He/she will be one of the public faces of The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County (TLC). A strong background in environmental education and natural history is required; however, the most important attributes are genuine excitement for TLC and our mission and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Strong written and communication skills are vital since the Teacher Naturalist and Educational Administrative Assistant may be asked to represent TLC at public functions/programs throughout the year. Applicants should have first aid certification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Help shape the vision and implement TLC’s Education programming over time and serve as a TLC goodwill ambassador in the community. The position is a collaborative effort with the Education Coordinator and the Early Childhood Education Coordinator. He/she will create programs, update calendars, conduct community outreach, post flyers, update kiosks, work as a teacher naturalist and coordinate with both private and public programming. He/she will help organize and promote opportunities for TLC’s environmental educational programs and increase on-site programming.
