The Associated Recreation Council is hiring for a Diversity Recruitment Manager to join the Human Resources team.

To develop and implement new recruitment strategies that eliminate barriers for applicants and builds strong relationships with all communities in Seattle. You will act as an ambassador for the Associated Recreation Council by utilizing your strategic outreach and recruiting experience to cultivate relationships in communities and increase accessibility to diverse talent.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will leverage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to work toward the goal of eliminating disparity and ensuring that equity is realized within Associated Recreation Council employment, and that all roles are filled by top performing candidates who accurately reflect the population they serve. Your creative engagements and outreach will help us ensure we attract and retain the best talent, at the right time, for the right positions. You will use your skills to help:

  • Build diversity recruiting process, policies, and guidelines, including creating Employee Referral and ARC Alumni programs and career paths, job classifications, and compensation structure.
  • Manage full cycle recruitment process for full-time positions, and oversee Recruiting Team’s high volume hiring needs.
  • Design, develop, and implement ARC competencies database.
  • Design and develop recognition and retention programs, including career counseling and development programs.
  • Track progress to goals to ensure the most impactful results.
  • Supervise Recruiting Assistant and Substitute Counselor Program Recruiter.

  • Being detail-oriented, and utilizing excellent problem-solving abilities

  • Removing barriers to employment for individuals in under-represented populations
  • Eliminating unconscious bias in recruitment programs, processes, and policies

Your effectiveness in this role will depend on your ability to:

  • Relate to diverse groups, cultures and individuals with ease
  • Identify diverse talent from various sourcing channels
  • Adapt well to shifting situations and variable environments
  • Command credibility with senior leaders through influence rather than authority
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups and projects, often with competing priorities

You will feel prepared to take on this role if you have experience in:

  • External recruiting and community outreach (universities, specialized career fairs, affinity groups, immigrant and refugee populations, communities of color, etc.)
  • Making influential policy recommendations to stakeholders
  • Analyzing data to determine program efficiency and executing improvements
  • Developing metrics for measuring the effectiveness of equity initiatives
  • Program design and implementation
  • Managing diverse teams

In addition to the qualities mentioned above, you will need to possess the below required qualifications (or a combination of education, training, or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HR, business/management, psychology, education or a related field
  • 5 years or more experience in all of the following areas:
    • Implementing diversity (gender, race, etc.) and inclusion recruitment and outreach programs
    • Developing and implementing full life-cycle recruiting programs, processes, and policies
    • Developing compensation structures and programs

Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience designing metrics and using data to make evidence-based recruiting recommendations and program changes.
