Purpose of the Assignment:

Support and coordinate ongoing work being done in the Gender & Social Policy sections.

To make a difference, you will be accountable for the following tasks and deliverables:

Expected Deliverables:

Deliverable 1: Gender Coordination & Knowledge Management

  1. Coordinate and organize Gender Discussion Forum on a monthly basis for the period of this consultancy
  2. Plan and organize Prevention against Sexual Harassment Training initially for the committee, then for all staff
  3. Compile, review and organize minimum of three gender knowledge products as relevant to PCO and as guided by Gender & Development Specialist
  4. Lead review of how Gender Checklist for Nutrition has been used since its roll-out and issue a report on this.

Deliverable(s)

a) Three Gender Forums organized

b) Sexual Harassment Training organized for the committee and then for all staff

c) Three gender knowledge products delivered

d) Monthly activity report

Deliverable 2: Monitoring and Reporting of Gender Results

  1. Review of gender marker monitoring and reporting in RAM
  2. Train colleagues in sections on use of Gender Marker in reporting of gender results

Terms of Payment: 20%

Deliverable 3: Coordination and Support of Social Policy Work – ECD and Education

  1. ECD: Coordinate with C4D in completing ECD materials, and plan and organize launch of materials with SUN Secretariat
  2. Education Budget: Regular follow-up with I-SAPs of Equity in Education budget project
  3. Follow up work with OPM and OPHI

f) Monthly activity report

Work Schedule: October to December

Terms of Payment: 20%

Deliverable 4: Coordination and Support of Social Policy Work – Social Protection & others

  1. Follow-up on Social Protection Consultant TORs and Contract (coordinate with KP Office and HR)
  2. Participate in UN Working Group for Social Protection
  3. Any other support and coordination required by Chief Social Protection

Terms of Payment: 20%

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required and Competencies:

  1. Advanced university degree in a social sciences related field
  2. Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience at national level in project coordination and management. A first university degree with six years of relevant experience can also be considered.
  3. Fluency in oral and written Urdu and English required

Competencies of Successful Candidate:

  1. Analytical and conceptual ability; communication skills.
  2. Planning and monitoring skills; ability to organize work & projects.
  3. Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions.
  4. Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications.
  5. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
