Scope of Work

1. Goal and Objective: Under the general supervision of the Chief of Communication and Partnerships and direct supervision of Partnership Specialist, the in-house F2F Campaign Team Leader will lead a team of face-to-face fundraisers and inspire potential supporters to sign up for regular monthly donation.

2. Provide details/reference to AWP areas covered:

Result 1 of Resource mobilization and leveraging. This covers aspects of the annual work plans where achieving donor acquisition and revenue generate through pledge fundraising.

3. Activities and Tasks: The specific tasks are:

  • Coordinate team activities in accordance with direction from FTF coordinator
  • Provide encouragement and coaching to any team members who may be struggling with approach / technique.
  • Ensure PFRA standards are adhered to by all team members at all times.
  • Provide visible leadership of the team, being readily available as a point of contact as required by members of the public.
  • Motivate team members to fundraise positively, proactively and professionally.
  • Provide Fundraisers with immediate but constructive feedback on any relevant observations on their technique.
  • Conduct daily 1-2-1 check-in with each team member – noting and flagging any concerns raised (including potential training needs etc.).
  • Monitor and record team and individual performance against daily / weekly targets.
  • Provide FTF Coordinator with regular updates and information relating to any potential issues identified (feedback on particular sites and / or individuals).
  • Meet with FTF Coordinator at the start of each shift for briefing on days fundraising activities / site.
  • Obtain travel warrants if applicable, and coordinate any necessary travel for the team.
  • Record and submit (to FTF Coordinator) team expenses, fundraisers hours worked (time sheets), and any incentives accrued.
  • Responsible for maintenance and safe-keeping of mobile technology.
  • Operate with industry code of conduct
  • Be willing to travel in-country, to various sites, as required.
  • Work relationships: The consultancy involves working closely with the Partnership Specialist on a day to day basis and with the Chief of Communication and Partnerships, Finance Officer, Admin & Finance Specialist, and Communications Specialists on a regular basis.

    Making sure that all the fundraisers in the team represents UNICEF in a professional manner and assure the quality and credibility of their interactions at all times. Inspire potential supporters to sign up for a regular monthly donation, by direct debit or credit card. Be available at the fundraising sites for the minimum required days of 21 days per month (includes training days) and achieve the minimum required new donor signups (i.e. 2 donors per day present at the fundraising site). Share a monthly report on key achievements.

    Desired competencies, technical background and experience

    Education: Matriculation or above.

  • Experience:
  • Proven ability in sales/ fundraising.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members to achieve targets and maintain standards
  • Numerate and literate, with proven ability in administration and coordination
  • Competencies:

  • A high level of emotional intelligence; able to manage own emotional state, be resilient in the face of rejection and or adversity and disciplined in standards.
  • Self-motivated and with ambition to deliver the best fundraising outcomes
  • A flexible approach to work and a can-do attitude to challenges and change
  • Professional level competence in written and spoken English
  • Proven customer relations and sales skills
  • Ability to remain calm, think clearly and work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Conditions

  • Local travel (outside Cape Town) and airport transfers (where applicable) will be covered in accordance with UNICEF’s rules and tariffs.
  • Flight costs will be covered at economy class rate as per UNICEF policies.
  • Any air tickets for travel, will be authorized by and paid for by UNICEF directly, and will be for the attendance of meetings and workshops (if contractor is from outside Cape Town)
  • The candidate selected will be governed by and subject to UNICEF’s General Terms and Conditions for individual contracts.
  • As per UNICEF DFAM policy, payment is made against approved deliverables. No advance payment is allowed unless in exceptional circumstances against bank guarantee, subject to a maximum of 30 per cent of the total contract value in cases where advance purchases, for example for supplies or travel, may be necessary
