Job organizational context
The Public Partnerships Division (PPD) works to strengthen UNICEF’s position as a partner of choice for children’s rights among governments and public actors around the world. The division is responsible for fundraising, advocacy, and leveraging engagement with public sector partners, including multilateral partners in the UN system and international finance institutions (IFIs).
Purpose for the job
The Senior Advisor & Team Leader of the UN Partnerships Team in PPD manages a small team with a combination of skills and competencies to ensure UNICEF strategically partners with other UN agencies and member states to deliver results for children in support of the 2030 Agenda. The primary function and responsibilities are: 1) To support UNICEF’s positioning in the UN reform agenda and its implementation thereof; 2) To enagage in and influence UN interagency processes and policies to leverage results for children in the context of SDGs; 3) To monitor and report on the implementation of the Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review Resolution and UNICEF’s contribution to the attainment of the 2030 Agenda; 4) To support senior management’s engagement in the Chief Executive’s Board for Coordination (CEB) and its three pillars and other interagency fora on issues related to UN coherence and UN reform; and 5) To provide guidance and maintain communication with field colleagues on issues related to UN Coherence as a part of field engagement and knowledge management.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Associate Director of the Multi-lateral and Inter-Governmental Partnerships Cone and in close collaboration with other PPD teams, the Senior Advisor and Team Leader manages the UN Partnerships team. S/He is responsible for providing strategic advice to various members in the organization about UN partnerships, in relation to maximizing its impact on delivering results for children.
